Jeff Hall

Jeff Hall was a right-back who played for Birmingham and England. He started his career with Bradford Park Avenue just after the Second World War. Hall was taken away at an incredibly young age, only 29. It took over 3,000 deaths in the UK and Wales to finally have people push for inoculation against the disease.

Jeff Hall had a concrete career, starting his footballing career at his local side, Bradford (Park Avenue), where he would start his youth career he moved his professional career to Birmingham city, where he would play over 200 games and reached the 1954 FA cup final where Birmingham city would lose to Manchester City 3-1. Hall would win 17 caps for England; he played fullback for both Birmingham City and England. Jeff Halls's career would be cut short after tragically falling ill with polio sadly; Hall passed away on the 4th of April 1959, only playing his last match at Portsmouth on March 21st.

Hall would later be honoured with a commemorative plaque placed outside the historic New Inn Wilsden Pub, which the family proudly owned and operated for many years.
